Skill to make leather armor 40 +
I understand that it has a SLIGHT improvement in resistance, but it does not compare to all the bonuses that wearing the armor has. ...leather—lighter weight, much more varied resistances (especially against the cold); plus, regarding material consumption, steel armor requires far more resources—and higher skill, too.

I haven't seen bone armor yet; steel armor doesn't seem very appealing to me so far. I don't know if other crafting options open up at higher skill levels... I'm speaking based on what I have right now, which is nearly 75 skill points.

Returning to the previous topic, I make a suggestion of items that can be added:
Insulated Steel Armor
They will be a little heavier and will require more resources but it will gain resistance to the cold, I think it would be good to have an insulated version of each of the 5 pieces of armor
——
Weapons: I think we have a decent ammount of melee weapons and for every weapons style.
——
Conteiners:
Metal box? It’s the metal version of the scrap box with woodworking.
Metal jar, mug.
——
Components:
Steel Plate (20)
Now it’s only a chance to make 10.

Well, after several practices I can say that 40 of physical resistance compared to 22, it shows. I understand that well one has to choose to have more or less resistance to the cold, but you were right and it's worth it. With 40 of physical resistance I can take to tank 3 or 4 raiders, with the armor of 22 I have tried and it is not possible, the damage is much greater. So point in your favor Archin. What I would like to propose in attachments for armor, not much, maybe to reduce weight, increase physical resistance or cold resistance by 1 point, there is not much to invent but it can be practical. I know it has been mentioned, that's why I'm touching on the subject again.
